On State Highway 41 at Pallikkara, 14 to 15 km from central Kochi, Wonderla Kochi has been running since the year 2000 — originally as Veegaland, rebranded as Wonderla in 2011 when the management standardised its chain of parks. It was India’s first amusement park to receive ISO 14001 certification (environmental management) and OHSAS 18001 certification (occupational health and safety) — a distinction it earned before Wonderla Bengaluru and before most Indian parks took formalised safety systems seriously.
Over 82 acres, 56+ rides across land and water, a wave pool, rain disco, multiple water coasters, a reverse looping roller coaster (India’s first), and ozone-treated UV-purified water throughout the park — Wonderla Kochi is the established benchmark for amusement parks in Kerala.

Regular vs Fastrack Tickets — Which to Choose
Regular Ticket: Standard entry allowing unlimited access to all rides. Queue wait time on popular rides can reach 20 to 45 minutes on weekends. The regular ticket is the right choice for weekday visits or for visitors comfortable with some waiting.
Fastrack Ticket: Express access to all rides — priority lanes mean minimal waiting. On crowded weekend days (particularly summer holidays and public holidays in Kerala), Fastrack can save 3 to 4 hours of cumulative queue time across a full day. At approximately ₹757 more than the regular weekday adult ticket, Fastrack is worth it specifically on peak crowd days.

About Wonderla Kochi — History
Veegaland (2000–2011)
Founded in 2000 by the Chittilappilly family (also founders of V-Guard Industries, the electrical products company), the park opened as Veegaland in Pallikkara. Architect Joseph John designed the original facility, and the park became the first amusement park in India to receive both the ISO 14001 environmental certification and OHSAS 18001 safety certification — achievements that reflected the management’s commitment to formalised quality systems unusual for Indian amusement parks of that era.
Veegaland’s success prompted the family to launch a second, larger park in Bengaluru in 2005 under the new Wonderla branding.
Wonderla Rebranding (2011)
In 2011, the Kochi park was rebranded Wonderla, aligned with the chain’s national identity. New infrastructure, updated ride safety systems, expanded water filtration (ozone treatment and UV purification), and additional attractions were introduced during the rebranding period.
Wonderla Holidays Limited is now a publicly listed company on Indian stock exchanges, making it one of the few amusement park operators in India with full public financial transparency.
Rides at Wonderla Kochi
Signature Ride — Recoil (India’s First Reverse Looping Roller Coaster)
Recoil is Wonderla Kochi’s most distinctive ride and one of the unique coasters in India. Two track ramps ascend to 40 metres each. The coaster accelerates to 80 kmph within one second on the first ramp, passes through a cobra roll and a full loop, then continues to the second 40-metre ramp — and repeats in reverse. The experience is disorienting and exhilarating in a way that conventional forward-only coasters are not. Minimum height requirement applies.
Water Rides
Wave Pool — The park’s social centrepiece. Large-format wave pool generating timed ocean-like waves. The Wave Pool at Wonderla Kochi is cleaner and better maintained than most competing parks — the triple-layer ozone-UV-purified filtration system is genuine, not marketing language.
Vertical Fall — High thrill: riders drop nearly vertically into a plunge pool at the base.
Wavy Fall — A less extreme version of the vertical drop format with a curved descent.
Water Coasters — Multiple versions: family coasters and thrill coasters using water-channel tracks.
Rain Disco — An enclosed dance floor with overhead water jets, lighting effects, and music playing simultaneously. One of the most consistently crowd-pleasing attractions for teenagers and young adults.
Lazy River / Rapid River — A slow meandering water channel for floating between activity zones.
Boomerang — U-shaped waterslide raft ride.
Wonder Splash — A large group raft waterslide.
Family Slide, Fun Slides, Snake Slides — Multiple slide formats of varying intensity.
Play Pool / Kids’ Pool — Shallow warm-water pools with spray features for young children.
Water Pendulum — A suspended water ride with pendulum motion.
Mammoth / Water Tornado — Multi-person tube rides through enclosed waterslide tunnels.
Land Rides
Flash Tower — 40-metre shoot-up and drop-down tower. The gondola fires to the top and falls back, creating a zero-gravity weightlessness moment at the peak.
Mission Interstellar — An immersive indoor ride taking visitors through a simulated space travel experience. One of India’s most sophisticated indoor dark rides.
Sky Wheel — Ferris wheel with scenic views of the surrounding Pallikkara landscape and distant hills.
Rockin’ Tug — A swinging ship (pirate ship format) ride.
Equinox 360 — A 360-degree rotating ring ride.
Maverick — A high-spin thrill ride.
Twist & Shout — A centrifugal spinning flat ride.
Wind Mill / Dancing Wheel — Gentler rotating rides for families.
Freestyler / Tanjora / Spin Mill — Additional thrill ride categories.

- Mini Top Spin
- Kiddies Wheel
- Mini Pirate Ship
- Flying Jumbo (elephant ride)
- Carousel
- Coco Cups

Weekdays (outside school holidays): Dramatically lower crowds than weekends. The regular ticket (without Fastrack) gives a full day experience without significant queuing on most rides.
