For visitors from Mumbai, Pune, and the wider Maharashtra region, Lonavala means more than the famous chikki candy and the misty monsoon ghats. It is also home to two of India’s most significant water and amusement parks — Wet’nJoy and Imagicaa Water Park — positioned along the same Mumbai–Pune highway corridor, roughly 80 to 90 km from each city. Whether the search is for India’s largest wave pool or India’s first loop waterslide, Lonavala delivers both within the same stretch of NH-48.
This guide covers both parks with their current 2026 pricing, key differences, and what to expect.

About Wet’nJoy Lonavala
Originally named Magic Mountain and operating as a standalone amusement park, the property was acquired by the Imagicaaworld group and rebranded as Wet’nJoy. The name now encompasses both the water park and the amusement section under one roof. Imagicaaworld also operates Wet’nJoy in Shirdi and multiple Aqua Imagicaa properties, making this a regional chain with significant investment in Maharashtra’s leisure tourism sector.
At approximately 60,000 sq ft, Wet’nJoy claims India’s largest wave pool — a significant distinction in a country where wave pools are the primary draw for most water parks. The pool is large enough to genuinely feel like an ocean environment, with waves that carry sufficient height and force to require swimmer competence.
Key Rides at Wet’nJoy Lonavala
Water Rides:
Wave Pool (60,000 sq ft) — India’s largest wave pool. The scale makes a material difference — unlike smaller wave pools where the crowd density dilutes the experience, this pool allows genuine spread. Waves are categorised as medium intensity on standard days, occasionally higher during programmed wave cycles.
Aqua Chute — A high-speed body slide with near-vertical initial gradient before the curve. One of the park’s headline thrill rides.
Turbo Force — A water cannon funnel slide where riders accelerate up and around the funnel wall before exiting through the base. The centrifugal experience in the funnel portion is the ride’s distinctive quality.
Crazy River — A meandering channel for leisurely floating between zones. The family equivalent of a lazy river but with moderate current variation.
Rain Dance Station — An outdoor rain dance floor with DJ music and water jets. Evening sessions during summer have a distinctly festival-like atmosphere.
Royal Castle Aqua Station — An interactive play castle with water guns, bucket dumps, and fountains — the designated zone for children who are not tall enough for the main water slides.
Amusement Rides (subject to current operational status):
Giant Frisbee — A large swinging disc ride rotating on a pendulum. Multiple riders face inward as the disc swings to near-vertical.
Standard Fairground Rides — Ferris wheel, bumper cars, family rides across different intensity categories.
Outdoor Activities:
The park has cricket grounds, sand volleyball, and outdoor games areas available to visitors.

From Pune: NH-48 in reverse direction. ~65 km to Wet’nJoy / ~82 km to Imagicaa. Journey time 1 to 1.5 hours.
By Train: Lonavala Railway Station is on the Central Railway Mumbai–Pune main line. Both parks are approximately 11 to 12 km from Lonavala station. Take a local taxi or auto from the station (₹200 to ₹400 to either park).
Wet’nJoy Weekend Bus: A dedicated round-trip bus service operates on weekends from Mumbai to Wet’nJoy — ₹700 per person. Book by calling +91 7506561224 or +91 9920455659.
Best Time to Visit
April to June: Peak summer season. Maximum footfall from Mumbai and Pune. Wave pools genuinely necessary for cooling. Book Tuesday/Thursday deals for lower pricing. Arrive at opening for shortest queues.
July to September (Monsoon): Lonavala’s monsoon is dramatic — waterfalls appear across the ghats, the landscape turns intensely green, and the drive itself becomes scenic. Both parks operate in monsoon but may reduce certain ride hours during heavy rain. The wave pool experience with rain falling simultaneously is an unusual atmosphere that regular visitors specifically mention.
October to February: Cool weather makes extended walking comfortable but reduces the appeal of water activities for some visitors. Still operates but less crowded — ideal for those specifically interested in amusement rides.
Wednesday (Wat-A-Wednesday at Imagicaa) / Tuesday or Thursday (Bonanza at Wet’nJoy): The best-value days at both parks regardless of season.
